Nochex Security Update - TLS 1.2

Nochex are committed to providing cutting edge security and fraud prevention for your peace of mind.
With this in mind, we’re upgrading our security protocols that are used to secure all external connections to our systems to the latest and safest.

All websites that send or process credit card data will be making this change to protocol Transport Layer Security 1.2 (TLS 1.2). This will become mandatory for communication with Nochex from March 30th 2018.
We understand some of the information provided to you can seem overwhelming, please pass this email onto your development team, web hosting provider or e-commerce software provider if you are unsure.

What is TLS?

When your server connects to the Nochex servers to authenticate a APC or Callback transaction, Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol encrypts the communications to keep them safe from malicious activity.

Will the update affect me?

If you use the APC or Callback system to authenticate Nochex payments you will need to ensure your systems use TLS 1.2 before the deadline date, March 30th 2018.
Please visit our security page to follow the necessary steps to make sure you are ready.

When will the changes take place?

To avoid any disruption, your systems will need to be ready for this change by March 30th 2018.

Why are you making changes?

The PCI Security Council sets the rules on which technologies are acceptable for use in sending cardholder data. They have identified TLS 1.0 or 1.1 as no longer acceptable.
